This Thursday, the Wolverines did not have to go far to earn another 3 points and continue their rise in the league table. Having to only travel 7 miles, the UMMCS efficiently took care of business and defeated the Eastern Michigan University Eagles 3-1. Goals were scored by graduate student forwards, Rory Landis and Josh Deuel, as well as, sophomore midfielder, Austin McMullen.
This result puts the Wolverines at 3-0-1 for the season and moves the club up to third place in the MASC Central Division. Michigan currently trails only Michigan State University and Central Michigan University, both clubs that have played more games than the Wolverines.
The Wolverines return to league action next Friday, October 3 at 8:00 pm in South Bend, IN as they take on the Fighting Irish from Notre Dame. Michigan will then travel to East Lansing, MI and look to hand the Spartans of Michigan State University their first loss of the season on Sunday, October 5 at 2:00 pm in this always important and well-fought derby.
