On a gorgeous afternoon in Ann Arbor, the Wolverines handed the Ferris State Bulldogs a 4-0 loss and kept Michigan's hopes of competing at the conference tournament alive.
It was a slow start for Michigan; despite maintaining the majority of ball possession, the Wolverines were unable to find the back of the net for over 25 minutes. Then, freshman midfielder, Hunter Mejaly, fired a shot from 30 yards out into the top of the Ferris State goal to give the Wolverines the lead.
Michigan took this lead into half where it seems that their tactics were discussed. For in the second half, a new team emerged; one that had a fierce desire to find the back of the Bulldog goal. The second half saw Michigan score three more times with goals scored by Rory Landis, Reid Davison (2nd of the weekend), and Louie Saravolatz.
Michigan ends this week of play with two important and necessary wins and now looks forward to the last weekend of regular season play. They first play host to the Lakers from Grand Valley State University (Saturday, October 18, 4:00 pm, Mitchell Field) in a must-win affair between two teams that look to secure their bid to the conference tournament the following weekend. Michigan then closes out their home schedule with a match-up against Central Division newcomer, Ball State University (Sunday, October 19, 12:00 pm, Mitchell Field).
